FAQ

Complete the Enrolment Form on our Contact Us page at any time. Alternatively, contact Lauren [email protected] / 07597905305 and provide your child’s name, age and preferred dancing day to arrange a FREE trial class.

New dancers participating in a trial class are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing so they can move freely. T-shirt and leggings are perfect! Bare feet for the trial class is great for H&S reasons. Uniform is available from Miss Lauren after registration.

Free parking is available in our grounds at St Saviour’s (Raynes Park) and Christ Church (Colliers Wood). If your dancer is taking class at St John’s (S. Wimbledon), please park in nearby parking bays to the side of the Hall or in the Church grounds opposite.

After completing a FREE trial class, Motion Arts will email a registration form to you. Please complete this and return via email or submit directly to Motion Arts staff.

Invoices for classes are published via email and are payable in termly blocks. Payment is to be made via online bank transfer using the dancer’s name as a reference.

Class fees for dancers who enrol part way through a term, reflect the number of classes remaining in the term. The first class is a free trial session.

Class fees are available on our website. Invoices are calculated for each class and reflect the number of lessons in each block. Motion Arts offers 10% discount to younger siblings, and 10% multiple class discount on the cheapest class for dancers participating in more than one class.

One adult is welcome to observe the first trial class to see if their dancer enjoys their time with us.

Motion Arts understands it is a joy to watch your child learn to dance, and families and friends are invited to attend Open Ballet Day once a term. This is an opportunity at the end of each term to watch your dancer perform all of the work they have been studying. From experience Motion Arts has seen that dancers are much more focussed and therefore develop more quickly when other adults are not present. We therefore request parents/carers to wait outside or take advantage of the local amenities.

Dance uniform is very important for classes because it allows our dancers to dance safely. It also brings a sense of unity amongst classmates. Our teachers can also support our dancers more effectively if they can see clearly how our dancers’ bodies are executing movements.

A list of uniform including costs will be emailed to families, following registration. Motion Arts is a registered Royal Academy of Dance school and can purchase items at trade price. We pass this benefit onto our families directly.

Motion Arts Merchandise is made to order. Please speak to Lauren if you wish to place an order.

Term Dates and Class Times are confirmed via email and are also available on our website.

To cover our rental and other running costs and in line with other ballet and performing arts based schools, refunds will not be given in the event of illness or unavoidable absences.

We encourage our dancers to participate in as many classes as they wish. We offer 10% discount on the cheapest class fee per term.

Motion Arts offers children’s classes in ballet, tap, and modern jazz. There are optional examinations for each of these genres for dancers aged 5 years and above.

Motion Arts offers our dancers the opportunity to perform on stage in charity events, dance competitions, community showcases and our full scale bi-annual theatre performance. Our dancers also enjoy attending theatre trips, workshops, holiday camps, and in-house social events.
